Foote   Earl Grey School, the first Junior High school in Canada.  The school (named after Canada's Governor-General from 1904 - 1911) was actually opened as a Grades 1 - 8 school in 1915. After only 4 years it was changed to a Junior High school. After Grade VI the classes were segregated into all boys' or all girls' classes.
